Did you know this exists? This exists. Mom bought it and I had some last night and it isn’t bad at all. #santafediscoveries (at Santa Fe, NM)
Costco also sells their own private label spirits under the Kirkland brand name (although reportedly they’re not too great). A few months ago on an airplane I actually watched a fascinating CNBC special about Costco, which contained a surprising segment about their huge wine and spirits business. It’s pretty interesting that their wine guru started out as an electronics buyer with no prior knowledge or interest in spirits, but now is one of the most influential buyers in the world.
Update: Reader Tom Bridge wrote in to inform us that the Kirkland bourbon is actually not bad at all, and if fact a pretty good budget option. Also, in an interesting coincidence, the Wall Street Journal turns out to have just done a piece about Costco wine deals!
